Youth Parliament

The UK Youth Parliament is all about young people campaigning on the big issues which affect young people’s lives. Youth Members of the Youth Parliament influence the decisions that affect them and their peers by working with top decision-makers at local, regional and national levels. The UK Youth Parliament is run by young people aged 11-18 across the UK who are supported by youth workers.

Young People's Shadow Executive

The Young Peoples Shadow Executive is made up of young people who work closely with Devon County Councillors. They campaign on youth issues and have a voice in decisions made within Devon.

Becoming a Member

The UK Youth Parliament and Young Peoples Shadow Executive groups have six Members who are elected every year in the Bigger Voices Better World Elections - in schools, youth projects/centres and venues. Each Member stands for one year. All young people aged 11-18 years are eligible to vote and stand in the elections. They must, however, live in Devon. The work of both elected groups is supported by Devon County Council.
