Across local government, inspectors from the Audit Commission make sure the public is getting the best possible value for money from council services. Inspection activity is coordinated between other organisations such as the Commission for Social Care Inspection and OFSTED.

The Audit Commission currently (30 April 2007) do not have a programme published on their website for the year 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008.

When published the Audit Commission co-ordinated and proportionate audit and inspection programme will be available on their website.
