I’m wrapping up really warm as it’s going to turn quite cold out there! One of the best ways of passing time when you are tucked up in your home waiting for the snow to fall is to look at The Zone…you knew that, of course! Have you ever thought of sending something in? I have spoken to lots of wonderful writers - you have seen them in Write On – and they often tell me that they started to write when they were young…like you (and me).
So go on, send something in to me - a story, a poem , a joke. You might even win a Goody Bag!
Anyway, keep reading because I’d like you to meet (well, in a virtual sort of way) Sue Purkiss, a writer who lives in Somerset. That makes her our neighbour, I suppose.
She recently visited Cullompton and Teignmouth Libraries to talk to invited school classes from St Andrew's Primary School (Cullompton) and Hazeldown Primary School (Teignmouth). Both events were very successful and the children asked Sue plenty of questions.
Sue talked about her work as a writer and read from some of her five published books, including Warrior King and The Willow Man.
