Performing Arts
If you play an instrument, sing in a choir, act in a dramatic or operatic society, or are simply interested in the performing arts…this service is for you.
You can visit or contact the Performing Arts Library at Exeter Central Library, or you can have access via your local library or mobile library. To make the most of your performance or event, we can provide the following resources as sets or single copies to benefit your music or drama group :
- Songbooks and vocal scores
- Choral works
- Shows and operas
- Librettos, songs and carols
- Instrumental, orchestral and band music
- Tutors and miniature scores
- English and foreign plays
- One-act plays and sketches, pantomimes and youth drama scripts
- Film, TV and radio scripts
You can book in advance to hire sets for a long loan period to cover rehearsal and performance. These can be requested direct from Performing Arts Library on 01392 384217 or via your local library, where materials can be delivered for you to collect. Our comprehensive request and information service can help if
- you're looking for a particular title or work and it is not available - we can obtain it for you through the request service and inter-lending scheme
- you need contacts for local music and drama groups or teachers
- you want news of local and national performing arts events
- you would like to display information on your society's activities and events
Performing Arts also has the main library service collection of music on CD and cassette.
