Working in Partnership

Public services in Devon are provided by a wide range of public bodies and local authorities.

These organisations often have shared responsibilities for local issues such as health and social care, crime and community safety, social housing, economic development and emergency planning.

Local authorities frequently work together in partnership with the voluntary and independent sectors and other agencies such as police, fire and health services for the benefit of local people. This helps to avoid duplication and maximise resources

In Devon these agencies have also formed a Local Strategic Partnership to improve the quality of life of people living in Devon by ensuring the work of all agencies and groups has the needs of local people at its core.
