Litigation
The Litigation Section of Devon County Council's Legal Services provides legal advice to and takes legal action on behalf of the County Council. Its work contributes to the strategic goals of the County Council by protecting the vulnerable; enabling and enhancing learning; protecting our environment and ensuring accessibility to the countryside. It also seeks to recover debts which are owed to the Authority.
At times this section will be actively involved in Public Inquiries. These are often held in the locality which has a particular interest in the matter or, sometimes, if the issues affect a significant geographic area, at County Hall, Exeter. See "Inquiry".
