Inquiry

A Public Inquiry is sometimes held where a matter is of public interest and there is opposition to a particular course of action. A Government Inspector will attend to hear views expressed by those involved in the issues and will then make a decision on a way forward. Generally the County Council is represented by lawyers who work with the Directorate involved. See "Litigation".
