Woodlands and Forestry

South West Forest
An integrated rural development project operating across north Devon and Cornwall.  From its base at the Cookworthy Forest Centre near Holsworthy, it provides a range of services to support farmers and landowners in managing change in the countryside.  The services relate to the creation and management of woodlands and include free independent advice, subsidised training, networking activities and organisation of promotional events.  By working with individual farm businesses and rural communities, the project aims to enhance lifestyles and landscapes of local communities.

South West Woodland Renaissance
A new partnership created to help bring more integrity to the woodland and timber industries in the South West region.  It has successfully bid for Rural Renaissance funding from the South West RDA to provide a funding scheme to support projects with strategic relevance to the South West region.  The scheme focuses on woodland management, marketing and processing timber, new markets for forest products and services, and innovative income generation for woodland owners.
