Helping you get out and about in Devon
Community Transport is the provision of non-profit making transport for the many people who may live miles from the nearest bus route or are unable to afford taxi fares or are physically unable to use the public transport services provided.
Community Transport tackles this problem by involving local people in the identification of transport needs within their community, and devising solutions. Devon County Council actively promotes this process by forming partnerships to help organise, develop and run these alternative transport schemes to best serve the community.
Transport for Your Community - Just Ask
Transport for Your Community : "Just Ask" (TFYC) is a membership body open to organisations based within Devon and operating not-for-profit Community Transport services.
TFYC is led by its members through an elected Steering Group and is designed to promote the work and services of Community Transport schemes across Devon with 3 distinct audiences in mind: passengers, funders and volunteers.
TFYC will help to raise awareness of Community Transport services working co-operatively in Devon whilst retaining each organisation’s own identity and independence.
