Children with additional needs
Welcome to Devon’s children with additional needs website. This site will link you into all areas of work for children with an additional need who live in Devon, ranging from universal to specialist services.
Our definition of an additional need is when children and young people have a physical, sensory, communication, behavioural or learning difficulty, or have a long term/life limiting condition. This may also include children with emotional health and wellbeing needs where there is an impact on their daily life.
We have an Integrated Children’s Provider Service, consisting of education, health and social care, who work together to plan and co-ordinate services for children and young people with additional needs from 0-18 years of age.
In Devon we recognise that the needs of each child and their families are best met through individual and personalised plans.
