Devon County Council Byelaws regarding the Employment of Children state the type of work that a child or young person may do, and also the hours that they can work. These Byelaws should be considered alongside other regulations that apply to the workplace, e.g.. Health & Safety Regulations, The Factories Acts etc.

We will need a completed work permit application form (80KB - pdf help) signed by the employer and the parent or carer before we can issue a work permit.  Please print off the form, fill it in, sign it and return it to us at the address shown.
