The demands of caring can often lead carers to give up work, reduce their hours and limit opportunities to undertake further learning.
There are a number of recent developments which can help carers stay in work or return to work, including flexible working arrangements and financial support for some. This includes the New Deal 50 plus and the Education Maintenance Allowance which can help young carers to continue to study.
City & Guilds have worked with Carers UK, ACE National and other partners to develop "Learning for Living - on-line learning for carers" building on your skills as a carer.
