Bear Street Cemetery, Barnstaple
Bear Street Cemetery was established in 1856 and extends over an area of 13.2 acres.
Barnstaple Town Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of Bear Street Cemetery. The Cemetery is located between Bear Street and Derby Road and can be accessed at either entrance.
The Cemetery is managed by the Council’s Cemetery and Grounds Maintenance Committee.

Summer (27 March - 30 October)
Pedestrian gates Mon - Fri 8.00 to 21.00
Vehicular gates Mon - Thurs 8.00 to 17.00 and Friday 8.00 to 12.30
Winter (31 October - 26 March)
Pedestrian gates Mon - Fri 8.00 to 17.00
Vehicular gates Mon - Thurs 8.00 to 16.00 and Friday 8.00 to 12.30
Family History Enquiries
Burials can be traced from the cemetery’s manual or computerised records. You must make an appointment if you wish to view the Bear Street Cemetery burial records yourself. If you cannot visit, a member of staff can do a search for you, but there may be a charge for this service.
