Access To Employment
Services
In April 2003 Access to Employment, in partnership with Pluss, was successful in achieving Jobcentre Plus Approved Provider Status to deliver the Work Preparation Programme in the South West Region. Adults with learning disabilities will be referred via the local disability employment advisor.
Individuals referred to Access to Employment will have their immediate training needs assessed through a Baseline Assessment. A link-worker will be appointed, taking responsibility for developing an action plan; they support the beneficiary with all aspects of their training whilst acting as a liaison point for parents and carers.
All beneficiaries will work towards achieving relevant qualifications; working in partnership with Integer Training Ltd and Exeter College we will deliver a range of training courses that complement our existing OCR-approved IT qualifications.
The business units offer training and preparation for the world of work by developing experience, self-confidence and work-skills. This encourages our beneficiaries to seek independent employment with the help and support of a Placement Officer
Core Units
- The Window Box Cafe - a community cafe serving a range of refreshments at affordable prices
- Grumbleweeds - a highly-popular contract gardening business serving properties across Exeter and the surrounding area.
