Do you need Additional Learning Support?
We understand that sometimes you may need extra help with your learning. Any learner can apply including those with:
• Learning difficulties
• Physical disabilities
• Mobility requirements
• Visual or hearing impairment
• Mental health difficulties
• Dyslexia or dyscalculia
• A temporary disability
• Language support requirements
What is Additional Learning Support?
Additional Learning Support is designed to give you the support you need to access your course and may include:
• equipment such as specialised computer keyboards, large screen computers, dictaphones & screen readers
• a Learning Support Assistant to work with you in the classroom
• assistance in exams, subject to agreement from the Examination Boards, such as extra time
• hearing loop, coloured overlays and other aids and adaptations to support your learning.
• course information on computer or through different printed formats, such as large print
You can talk to a Learning Support Tutor about
• Your learning needs
• Any additional learning support you may require
• The accessibility of your course
• Impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) about education and training opportunities
